Application Gateway pricing is region- and tier-sensitive. Confirm WAF_v2, the target region, zone requirements, public or private frontend design, backend topology, and whether Front Door is also present before entering rates.
Separate fixed gateway operating hours from variable capacity-unit hours and processed data. For an existing gateway, use Azure metrics and billing exports; for a new design, document minimum, typical, and peak assumptions instead of one unexplained average.
The gateway line item does not include the whole production operating model. Add Log Analytics ingestion and retention, alerting, workbooks, network or public IP costs, egress where applicable, certificate operations, rule tuning, and incident-response effort.
